FESTIVALS & PERFORMANCES

After being in Indonesia for over 20 months, we were fortunate to see many different cultural performances and even attend some annual festivals ranging from small regional gatherings to 4 huge day events.
Some were popular tourist activities whilst others were local performances in small regional areas where we were the only guests - and lots in between...!!
KECAK DANCE

KITE FESTIVAL

FULL MOON BARONG DANCE This was a local performance and we were the only guests attending. It was within  holy temple grounds and therefore we were required to follow local customs and wear traditional dress.
A huge thanks goes to Pima and Debbie (from Pima's Garden Cafe) where we ate lunch almost daily while in the area.

Pima and Debbie's daughter (also named Debbie) with her family at the performance.  She is also a traditional dancer but wasn't performing that night.
